Ingredients
- 3 tbsp butter or margarine
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 3 slices of bread
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef (or degrease regular ground beef in 3 quart w/insert)
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1/2 tsp flour
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp flour
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 tbsp cooking sherry
Instructions
- Melt butter in skillet over medium heat; add chopped onions and saute until transparent. In lg mixing bowl, soak bread in milk. Remove onions from skillet, reserve drippings. Add hamburger, onions and pepper to bread mixture; mix thoroughly. Form into 1 1/2" balls. In skillet, brown meatballs over medium heat in drippings; remove meatballs from skillet, reserve drippings. Stir flour into drippings in skillet until blended. Add bouillon and water, stirring until sauce is smooth and thickened. Add meatballs and sherry; cover. When valve clicks turn to low and simmer for 15 minutes.
