Ingredients
- 1 lb ground hamburger or turkey
- 1 onion (through #2 cone)
- 2 large cans spaghetti sauce (650 ml)
- 6 mushrooms (#4 cone)
- 1 box lasagna noodles (or any noodle of choice)
- 4 cloves garlic (#1 cone) or garlic powder
- Mozzarella cheese (#1 cone)/(or mix with cheddar)
- Italian seasoning
- 500 ml Cottage Cheese
- 1 pepper (hand sliced into strips)
- 1 bunch spinach leaves (or canned with water removed or 1 box of frozen)
Instructions
- Degrease hamburger or ground turkey by preheating 1/2” of water on med-high in the bottom of the 3-quart saucepan. Place meat and onions in insert and cover. As onions sauté and meat browns, periodically open lid and break apart with fork until brown. Once meat has browned, put on low for 5 minutes to degrease. In a medium size bowl, mix meat with spaghetti sauce, garlic and Italian seasoning or season to taste. In a cold electric skillet, place a thin layer of meat sauce followed by 2 layers of uncooked lasagna noodles (break pieces to fit sides and put each layer in a different direction). Add another thin layer of sauce on noodles, spinach, and cottage cheese. Add another layer of noodles and cover with remaining sauce and mozzarella/cheddar cheese. (amount of layers or order does not really matter). Sprinkle a light layer of Italian spice over cheese. For presentation, add a layer of sliced mushrooms on top of the cheese and top with strips of any colored peppers. Cover and set probe to 325 degrees. When valve clicks and lid is hot to the touch, set to 180 degrees or when valve stops clicking completely for 35 minutes or longer. (It can remain in a vacuum as long as desired.) Test for doneness by gently inserting a knife through the lasagna. The noodles will be soft.
